Sercotel puts four startups to the test in live hotels
Sercotel turned nine of its hotels into innovation labs with four startups, backed by Seidor. Results were presented at the Demo Day at Sercotel Rosellón, according to Hosteltur. The solutions tested:
- Controlá: improves room management.
- Jaippy: optimizes online reputation.
- ProcessAP Robotics: introduces service robots.
- Smart Water Flow: monitors water consumption for sustainability.
In my view, this real-environment testing before scaling is exactly what the industry needs. Too many chains buy tech without proof. Sercotel will now analyze scalability, and if ROI holds, we could see a broader rollout. OpenStay Lab is the enabler that keeps innovation from staying a pilot. More groups should follow this grounded approach.
