ACHM Hotels by Marriott to unify two historic Rome hotels
ACHM Hotels by Marriott will manage the Atlántico and Mediterráneo hotels in Rome from 2027 and 2028 respectively. According to Hosteltur, they will be unified under the Autograph Collection brand. The Mediterráneo, designed by Mario Loreti, is a prime example of Italian Rationalism from 1938.
The deal was coordinated by Iberolat. ACHM, which already runs 75-plus hotels across Europe, aims to double its portfolio to 140. The challenge? Merging two iconic properties with distinct personalities while keeping their soul intact. Marriott knows how to play the local character card, but execution here is everything. I'm glad to see they're betting on preserving history rather than a generic makeover.
