Bahrain to host UN Tourism investment forum in 2027

Bahrain will host the International Tourism Investment Forum in January 2027, an event put together with UN Tourism and under the patronage of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, according to Hospitality Net. The format points to a room where tourism ministers, institutional investors and financial institutions with real signing power sit together.

The move makes sense. The Gulf has spent years competing for tourism capital, and Bahrain, with less scale than Dubai or Riyadh, needs its own platform to pitch its project pipeline. Having UN Tourism on board changes the weight of the event, because it pulls in delegations that otherwise would not land in Manama.

My read is that the real value of the forum is not in the panel sessions, but in the bilateral meetings closed in the hallways. If Bahrain manages to send major hotel chains and infrastructure funds home with concrete homework, the event will have paid for itself. If it stays at the institutional photo op, it is just another date on the calendar. The window is January 2027 and there is room to build a serious pipeline.
