## Article

That British families have a soft spot for the Spanish coast is nothing new. What stands out is how emphatic it is this summer. According to [Hosteltur](https://www.hosteltur.com/178271_de-cambrils-a-benalmadena-espana-arrasa-entre-las-familias-britanicas.html?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=de-cambrils-a-benalmadena-espana-arrasa-entre-las-familias-britanicas), eight Spanish destinations occupy the top spots in the ranking consecutively, from Cambrils to Benalmadena. Ahead of Turkey, Greece or Italy.

My take: this is not just a win for supply, it's a shift in risk perception. The British traveller with kids wants predictability. Sun, beach, short flight, familiar food and an infrastructure they have already tried. Spain, with the maturity of its tourism product, is the easiest answer. It's the first choice, not the consolation prize.

For destinations not on that list, the question is what they're doing wrong. Because Spain's lead isn't based on inertia. It's earned every season.

The opportunity for those who know how to serve this family client that spends without fear is huge. Time to look after them, because the competition won't sit still.
