The agreement brings together two players with complementary interests: PATA contributes its network of destinations, airlines and hotels across the region, while ATTIA represents tech companies working in distribution, revenue management and the traveller experience. The collaboration will focus on **three areas**: joint events, advocacy on public policies affecting the sector and marketing actions to highlight technology innovation in the region.

In my view, this kind of alliance is more useful than it looks. Asia Pacific is a fragmented market, with different regulations per country and uneven tech adoption. Having two associations coordinate efforts can help smaller companies in the sector gain more voice and access to tools that today feel out of reach. The challenge will be making sure the deal does not stay in photos and press releases, and that the events lead to real agreements, not just full agendas.
