Summary: LLYC's barometer gives Madrid a passing grade in tourism reputation. Better, but still nothing to shout about. Room for improvement is clear.

## Article

Tourism reputation in the **Community of Madrid** has ticked up to **5.6 out of 10** in the second quarter of 2026, according to the [LLYC barometer as reported by Hosteltur](https://www.hosteltur.com/178206_la-reputacion-del-turismo-mejora-levemente-en-la-comunidad-de-madrid-segun-el-barometro-de-llyc.html?utm_source=rss&#038, utm_medium=rss&#038, utm_campaign=la-reputacion-del-turismo-mejora-levemente-en-la-comunidad-de-madrid-segun-el-barometro-de-llyc). A pass, sure, but for a region chasing global tourism status, it feels underwhelming.

My take: a two-tenth improvement is fine, but let's not break out the confetti. The positive part is the upward trend. The real homework is still about managing overcrowding and neighborhood impact. Let's hope Madrid learns from other destinations before it becomes a real problem.

What this tells me is that **communication and expectation management** matter just as much as promotion. For now, keep rowing.
