Hotels keep only name, address and a link. ## Article Busy Thursday. As reported by [Hospitality Net](https://www.hospitalitynet.org/editorial/4134325/google-stripped-rates-from-its-eu-hotel-search-unit-and-hotels-got-only-a-name-and-a-link-anthropics-risk-report-has-four-findings-hospitality-isnt-reading-staff-confidence-is-a-guest-experience-strategy), Google has pulled live pricing, date filters and budget tags from its EU hotel search unit to comply with the DMA. In the box that used to drive bookings, all that remains is **name, address and a link**. That's it. This isn't cosmetic. That box was a contextual demand machine. Now the hotel regains control over its rate, sure, but also the job of pulling the guest out of the search engine. My reading: whoever has their own CRM and a decent direct page wins. Whoever leaned on the box is dancing. The same piece nods at Anthropic's risk report and an idea I find more interesting: staff confidence as part of the guest experience. Two subjects, one warning. Staring only at the revenue metric and neglecting who's standing in front of the guest is the fast track to demand not coming back, Google or no Google. ## Sources - Hospitality Net: https://www.hospitalitynet.org/editorial/4134325/google-stripped-rates-from-its-eu-hotel-search-unit-and-hotels-got-only-a-name-and-a-link-anthropics-risk-report-has-four-findings-hospitality-isnt-reading-staff-confidence-is-a-guest-experience-strategy ## Citation Google strips rates from its EU hotel search unit.
