Summary: A study with Talker shows the average traveller reviews 10 hotels before booking. With AI in that search, inaccurate listings cost you the reservation.

## Article

For years the hotel playbook was simple: more information and more channels meant more bookings. Publish more photos, list on more OTAs, add more rates. The research Hospitality Net has published with Talker says that playbook is done. The average traveller reviews **at least 10 hotels** before booking, and millennials go up to **12** against **7** for boomers, according to [the Hospitality Net piece on accuracy and AI](https://www.hospitalitynet.org/opinion/4134743/as-travelers-research-more-with-ai-hotel-accuracy-matters-more-than-ever?utm_source=rss&#038, utm_medium=rss&#038, utm_campaign=as-travelers-research-more-with-ai-hotel-accuracy-matters-more-than-ever).

So the problem is no longer that travellers find too little. It is that they find things that do not add up. And here AI works against the messy listing. Generative assistants read, cross-check and summarise your hotel data in seconds: if your website says one thing, the OTA another and the metasearch engine a third, the traveller is not comparing prices any more, they are comparing doubts. Accuracy stops being a marketing topic and becomes pure distribution.

My read: whoever treats the product listing as a living asset, with rates, services and policies updated across every channel, will win the AI recommendation without paying for it. Whoever keeps leaving content on autopilot will hand those 10 comparisons to the hotel next door.
