Summary: The new ibis budget Barcelona Center, with 189 rooms, strengthens Accor's commitment to sustainable budget hospitality in the city's tech district.

## Article

Accor keeps proving that budget doesn't have to mean basic. The French chain has **opened the ibis budget Barcelona Center** in the **22@ district of Poblenou**, the largest in Iberia with **189 rooms**, as reported by Hosteltur.

The hotel, managed by **AGP Hotels**, is a 15-minute walk from Bogatell beach and 5 minutes from Llacuna metro station. This is no ordinary ibis budget: it features a **swimming pool, garden, buffet breakfast and electric vehicle chargers**. Its key differentiator is a strong focus on **sustainability and energy efficiency**, with solar panels and rainwater harvesting.

Accor is smart to place a low-cost quality product in a high-value area like 22@, where corporate demand and leisure tourism meet. The challenge now will be keeping rates competitive without sacrificing profitability.
